I started as a chainsaw carver 13 years ago whilst working for a large tree surgery company.
Eventually I started gaining clients and my carvings proved popular so I became a full time chainsaw carver. That was 7 years ago and now I get to travel all over the UK to work on commissions and abroad to the USA taking part in shows. I have placed in many competitions and in 2014 I placed first in the European Chainsaw Carving Championships which is held every two years defending my title. I also won in 2012.
During a recent show I looked at a basic wooden hut which gave me the idea to construct my own. This evolved over the past months into the shepherd huts you see today.
During the last eleven years I have gained many skills and carving is now not my only work I do. I have been trained in green oak framing, joinery, construction techniques and wood milling. All of these including the technical cutting I am asked to do to ensure we make our shepherds huts to the highest standard possible using the best materials available. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the materials makes a very strong, quality product.
